Service Design Supplement
The Guardian

How do you get your organisation to really think about your customers? And then how do you get them to use what they know to design brilliant services?

All of Engine’s projects are set up as a creative and collaborative process, involving customers and employees as important sources of insight and inspiration.

The trick to success is to drive ideas, decisions, service and product development life cycles around a clear understanding of the need and requirements of your target customers and your organisation.

It’s simple: to make the leaps you need to make, to excite & engage the people you need to engage, you need to adopt creative, abductive and open approaches from the start – even from strategic definition.

This is why we are excited about collaborating with other leading, innovative companies to produce a supplement on Service Design for the Media Guardian.

We wanted to tell everyone, and you can read more of what we and everyone else has been up to at The Guardian Service Design supplement website.

The supplement contains far ranging stories on the success of applying a service design approach, including: The London Boroughs of Southwark and Barnet as they strive for social innovation and transformation; initiatives in Uganda to improve water quality; the inception of a passenger centred service strategy for the Portuguese Airport Authority; and, McDonald’s revitalisation of its brand in France.

There are also talking heads with Joe Ferry (Virgin Atlantic), Lynne Maher (NHS Institute for Innovation & Improvement) and David Anderson (InterContinental Hotels).

Enjoy!
