Matchbox

As a card-based ‘mind-mapping’ tool, Matchbox provides designers with a way to learn about their clients in order to better develop new business and provide the most useful services possible. It also helps business owners and their advisors to explore the diversity of ways in which design can make important improvements to a company’s success beyond just the way something looks.

Matchbox and the accompanying programme have been so successful in providing information and inspiration that the DTI have decided to distribute it nationally.

Matchbox is a core tool used as part of Design In Demand - a new programme developed by the Design Council to help you get full value from design.

Creating the Design Council’s programme content is one way we’ve shared our idea development techniques to help others optimise their creative processes. We’ve also produced inspirational tool kits and workshops for the Innovation Unit of the Department for Education and Skills, to help teachers develop visions for personalised learning in their schools.
