We’re on a boat!

A new P&O ferry for the Dover straights crossing, ‘The Spirit of Britain’, has recently been unveiled and put into action.

Engine Service Design were involved in the passenger experience design of the ship, to create great service experiences that differentiated ferry travel from the influx of budget airlines.

Through a range of research and on board exploration, Engine produced service principles to meet the needs of a variety of passengers, to enhance the experience and to delight passengers.

Engine’s contribution to the new ship and new service experience has been acknowledged on a plaque on board ‘The Spirit of Britain’.

Engine also feature in an article about service design in a new industry: ferry operators. The article is written by Bruce Peter and appeared in ShipPax DESIGNS 11 (September 2011) pp. 73-75.
