User led service innovation featured in The Guardian
Engine have been featured in a Guardian article on user-led service innovation (Pdf download). The article, part of a section sponsored by NESTA’s public service innovation lab, outlines the innovative practices of SILK, our Designs of the Year Award nominated project with Kent County Council.

They say ‘rather than working out how existing services might meet users needs, the new approach asks residents where the support gaps lie.’ Robert Hardy, Kent’s director of improvement and engagement says ‘we felt there were areas where the way we’d been working hadn’t changed things - so we had to change what we did… this is about public services accepting that individuals are experts in their own lives - rather than us being the experts.’
