Service by Design Update Session
Nick and Oliver facilitated a refresh workshop for the Birmingham City University innovation mentors working on the Service by Design programme.
Service by Design is an experimental programme exploring how universities can develop and support engagement with service organisations. Engine designed the four step project process and supporting tools that the mentors use during the engagements, and many of the projects are now really starting to take off.
The workshop was great fun - we built pasta masterpieces, did some dialogue mapping and used a follow up to Mapit! (called, unsurprisingly, Doit!) to explore how Birmingham City University can practically support the projects the mentors have begun to identify.
We’re looking forward to catching up with Service by Design again soon, particularly as the engagements really start to make a difference to the organisations.
As part of Service by Design, Birmingham City University's innovation mentors use Mapit! a structured brainstorming and project building tool.
