Service Design and User Experience: same or different?

In the genealogy of design, User Experience and Service design have much in common. But the interesting question is this: whats the difference and what happens next? Is Service Design just a marketing term, or does it advocate a fundamentally different approach to designing experiences and new forms of value? In this talk, Oliver King, a co-founder of the service design consultancy Engine, will outline the origins and future of Service Design illustrating methods, philosophies and strategies to help organisations remain meaningful and valuable to people. Oliver’s talk is aimed at executives and practitioners who are trying to affect change and build capability at project or an organisational level.
