Ideaplay Competition!

Engine’s Innovation Toolkit for Entrepreneurs, Ideaplay, was recently featured in CentreLink Magazine. They gave away 5 licenses worth £500 each.

Ideaplay is an exciting new product for use in schools, universities and other educational settings, developed by Engine and the Design Council. Students follow the experiences of everyday characters across a storyboard, identify their unmet needs and then propose and develop new products and services to help them. In teams, they follow Ideaplay’s design process to generate an idea and develop it for pitching to fellow workshop participants.

Simon Stockley, Director of MBA Programme at Tanaka Business School at Imperial College, London, believes wholeheartedly in this process:

‘Design thinking de-mystifies much of what entrepreneurs do and, as such, forms a solid foundation for any enterprise curriculum. Design thinking, therefore, permeates the entrepreneurial process. It may often be called something else but it is ever present and represents one of the few remaining sources of national competitive advantage. It also makes teaching enterprise a whole lot easier and a lot more fun!’
